Alaska Wood Industries was founded in 1978 in Ashton, Ontario by Ranko and Cveta Ignjatic. Today the second generation operates the company with the same principles as the founder. Solid quality standards and fairness is the major objective.
With employees having over 25 years of seniority, the manufacturing team has witnessed physical plant expansions along with numerous machinery upgrades. The evolution from old time European hand craftsmanship to the modern computer generated production methods (CNC) has been seamless.
The employees talent pool and creative abilities has allowed the use of CNC machinery in all aspects of the production process; from the beginning stages of design, shop drawings, layout and cutting to the final stages of installation. While at the same time allowing our talented cabinetmakers the opportunity to give the required custom quality. There it is PRECISION THROUGH CNC and QUALITY THROUGH TALENT.
Our administrative group consists of: project managers, draftsmen, accounting and administrative department. This group is involved from the onset of the project. Coordinating and communicating with architects, designers, owners and general contractors at all stages of the projects ensures smooth and flawless flow production process. Our installation crew consists of experienced team of installers and supervisors. They ensure that once the finished product leaves the factory, it is handled and installed at the site with care and precision. Materials used in production vary from hardwood lumber, plastic laminate, solid surface to more exotic wood and veneers. The consistent use of variety of products allows flexibility and permits following trends and design with the newest of materials and manufacturing process. Today the proof of our success lies in the variety of project realizations. We take great pride and pleasure looking at them being used daily by variety of clients.
